wunderlich house
new CLT Passivehouse family home
Inspired by the landscape, a solitary monolithic building intends to create a new home catering to the needs of a young family.
This highly sustainable and energy self-sufficient home has been designed to the Passivhouse standard to respond to Wagga’s cold winters and hot, dry summers whilst allowing for continuous clean fresh air. It will be constructed from sustainably sourced cross laminated timber and finished with untreated hardwood cladding.
Strategically positioned windows direct views away from nearby developments and overlooking out toward the Murrumbidgee plains.
A sheltered outdoor area connects the main building, which comprises living areas on the ground floor and bedrooms on the first floor, with the separate studio and workshop spaces.
Respecting the adjacent ecological environmental zone this house will be nested amongst the grassy woodland with naturally occurring granite boulders surrounded by a variety of native gardens as well as orchards and vegetable patches.
